Self-acceptance

Hello. Today I’m back for another article. But I wanted to do something a tiny bit different and talk about a more serious matter. Before you read this, I just wanted you to know, this is just my point of view. If you don’t agree with me, that’s fine, as long as you also respect my opinion.
Youtube, just like any other entertainment platform, is known to be amazingly inspiring. According to one’s peer of interest, Youtube offers inspirational contempt about make-up, fashion, decoration, gaming, humour and the list goes on and on. But entertaining people is not its only purpose, don’t misjudge Youtube as a nice little social media for self-obsessed teenagers. Youtube not only is a real hit for the internet world, but also allows people from all around the world to share freely their sometimes brilliant ideas and opinions.
Whatever elders might think about our generation, the millennials are definitely not just naïve and narcissistic fools. The millennials have finally understood the basis of the odd thing that we are all pursuing: happiness. You have to love and accept yourself as you really are in order to love and accept the others. And Youtube is full of really open-minded people encouraging others to feel free to be who they are deep down.
One of the most important acceptance process this platform promotes is homosexuality. Society has always rejected what it was scared of: the minorities, people they can’t understand.  Homophobia is one of those fears.
If you type: “Coming out” as a key word on the search bar you’ll find hundreds of videos that could really struck a chord with someone struggling to accept his/her homosexuality. People who share their struggle and how they overcame and broke free from the conservative society’s negative point of view on their sexuality.
I heard too many heart-breaking stories of bullying, desperation, suicide. However, I am so excited for the bright future ahead of us. Youtube is one of the factor of this mind-blowing movement which is self-acceptance. But it’s just a platform that has given the power to human beings to give love, understanding and support to others. Despite the fact that there are innumerable problems on our planet, I believe the world is changing for the best. I keep having faith in humanity because of amazing, inspiring people. If you want to hear about those people, here are some videos I personally found eye-opening:
